New company formed to offer microwave & RF representation

A new French company, Transtech Technologies SAS, has been formed by Globes Elektronik of Germany and Link Microtek of the UK to act as a technical representative in France for manufacturers of microwave and RF products.

Globes and Link are each well established in the microwave representation business in their respective territories and have had a long association, partnering on various projects and joint ventures for many years.

The managing directors of the two companies, Ulrich Blievernicht and Steve Cranstone, are both directors of Transtech, and sales activity will be spearheaded by Véronique Subrebost, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the microwave sector in France.

“This is an exciting development as far as the French market is concerned,” commented Steve Cranstone, Transtech’s managing director. “Obviously we are hoping that Transtech will replicate the success that Globes and Link have enjoyed, and with Véronique’s expertise and market knowledge, we believe we have every chance of achieving that aim.”

Indeed, Transtech has already signed up three principals from the USA to get the ball rolling: Ferrite Microwave Technologies, the manufacturer of high-power microwave components; Lark Engineering, which produces microwave and RF filters; and Communication Components Inc. (CCI), which supplies mobile infrastructure products.

In addition, Transtech will of course be representing Link Microtek’s own manufactured products, including rotary joints, waveguide components, the Azdec infrared secure communications system and the EMILI 3 liquid explosive detection system. The key sectors for Transtech will be defence, space, homeland security, telecoms, automotive and medical.

Cranstone again: “We are now actively seeking further principals in order to broaden out the product offering with a variety of waveguide, coaxial and semiconductor components, as well as assemblies and instrumentation. Ultimately we envisage Transtech, Globes and Link working together to share product lines and provide European coverage for principals.”
